Meetings and Advanced Training

2008 Advanced Training Opportunities

FEBRUARY 9 - Bottomland Ecology and Wetland Conservation at Bayou Meto. CANCELLED.

MARCH 8 - Stream Team at PMSP Little Maumelle River with AGFC's Steve Filipek. If you're interested in joining our Stream Team, come out and learn from the best. We will be sampling the water and checking for nitrates, phosphates, and oxygen levels. We will also dig around in the debris to see what kind of critters we can find. By cataloging the critters and water samples we play an important role in keeping up with the health of the river and learning how humans impact it. Come prepared to get your feet wet. Bring waders if you have them. We will meet in the parking lot of the Kingfisher Trailhead. Time TBA. Email the Stream Team Coordinator for more info.

MARCH 29 - Official Grand Opening of PMSP's new base trail. Time and meeting place TBA. CAMN volunteers have contributed many hours to completing this trail, so come out and see what a wonderful job they have done.

We will spend the day learning the do's and don'ts of trail construction and maintenance on PMSP's new Base Trail. Bring sturdy gloves, wear sturdy shoes, bring a snack and lots of water. Some tools will be provided. If we need you to bring soomething specific, we'll let you know. Meeting place and time TBA.
